The Michigan Climate and Health Adaptation Program (MICHAP), in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, works to prepare the public health system for the impacts of climate change. This presentation provides an overview of how climate change is affecting health and discusses the ways that MICHAP is responding. The audience will have a better understanding of climate change in Michigan, why healthcare providers are an important player in climate change adaptation, and the resource materials available. The audience will have an opportunity to discuss the climate-related health impacts seen in their practice.
