In 2026, Michigan Clinicians for Climate Action (MiCCA) is launching a self-selected volunteer membership dues model to support our long-term sustainability and independence. This step allows us to reduce reliance on unpredictable funding and invest directly in the work our members value most.
We strive to ensure membership remains as accessible and inclusive as possible, so we’re taking a page from our parent organization and requiring a self-selected annual due, which starts at a $5 minimum.
What This Means for You:
New Members: All new MiCCA members will register through our new member onboarding page. We have suggested levels for students and health professionals, but give what feels right to you! If you’d like to learn about what membership entails, please contact Teresa at teresa@michigancca.com or schedule a call with her.
Existing Members: Using the suggested levels of giving, we ask you to re-register on our new membership page to be included in our 2026 membership by Aug. 10. We’re giving current members a six-month grace period to be able to access our newsletters, member meetings, and discounted annual conference fees, but after Aug. 10, 2026, those perks will become member-exclusive.
Organizational Partners: If you represent an organization, we offer institutional membership options. Learn more about the perks and apply to be an organizational partner here.
Exemptions: If you donated in December 2025 as part of our Give & Grow fundraiser, we will count your gift toward a 2026 member due contribution. Because dues will be an annual requirement for membership, we still encourage you to establish a recurring annual or monthly contribution on our new page.
Membership Eligibility & Benefits:
Eligibility: To remain inclusive to a wide range of expertise, we define health professionals broadly, who work, live, study in, or are from Michigan. This includes health providers of all types, first responders, counselors, retirees, students, public health officials and decision-makers, health researchers and professors, hospital administrators, and related fields.
Benefits:
Firstly, you’re becoming an integral part of an organization that champions climate solutions as health solutions in Michigan and at the federal level. You can learn more about our work at michigancca.com and check out our 2025 highlights.
We will be offering members discounted rates to our annual CME/CE eligible Annual Climate & Health Conference. Our previous themes were focused on Climate Smart Healthcare with Dr. Aparna Bole as our keynote in 2025 and Environmental Justice with Dr. Abdul El-Sayed as our keynote in 2024.
Access to educational monthly member meetings to engage with other members and hear about volunteer opportunities and the latest state and federal policy updates.
Volunteer opportunities to participate on issue-focused subcommittees, engage with decisionmakers, speak at press events, give presentations, work with MiCCA staff to publish opinion pieces, and develop educational materials, etc.
As we grow our membership, we hope to offer even more exclusive benefits, including more CME/CE opportunities and an internal page on our website where members can access pertinent literature and participate in forum discussions.
Membership support will enable MiCCA to expand CME opportunities, host more in-person events across Michigan, grow staff capacity, and strengthen our policy and advocacy work.
We’re grateful for this community of health professionals and look forward to working together for many more years to come.
If you have any questions about the new membership model or feel dues are prohibitive, please contact Teresa at teresa@michigancca.com.
Thank you for your support and making this work possible!
